HJC Sports latest helmet, the BELLUS 2 is a fully ventilated helmet made for comfort, focusing on heat management and ventilation at real world speeds ridden by real world cyclists – those who aren’t in the World Tour. 

Overwhelmingly it is ventilation and comfort which are the priority for most riders. The negligible aero gains offered by aero helmets at low speed, are completely offset by the discomfort of lower airflow and increased heat build up. 

The HJC BELLUS 2 addresses this with large open vents on the top of the helmet allowing heat to escape at typical riding speeds (under 20km/h when climbing). As such the helmet is the ideal helmet for road, gravel riding or bikepacking. 

This more customer focused approach is seen also in the Fidlock Magnetic Buckle. Easy fast and secure to use, even with gloved hands. 

Minimising sweat runoff has also been addressed. Padding at the front of the helmet mounts directly to the inner shell allowing airflow behind the pad at the brow increasing evaporation. This is further encouraged by 3 ventilation notches under the lip of the brow of the helmet. Additionally a removable soft peak is included. This replaces the brow pad, shading the user’s face and increasing evaporation. 

Testing of the helmet showed measurable performance advantages managing heat with more rapid cooling compared to the previous BELLUS and competitors' products costing double the price. 

With the primary purpose of a helmet being to protect the user, HJC Sports has equipped the helmet with SLID™ (Sliding Layer Impact Distribution) system, which adds additional protection from concussions both in rotational and blunt force impacts. 

Other features include reflective detailing, anti-bacterial Ionic+ pads and “the best eyewear storage on a helmet I have ever seen” according to one (external) product tester.
